Current status of Word plugin and Track Changes

Just wanted to check where we stand on the previously reported issues with the Word plugin and having Track Changes turned on in Word? Is my best bet still to disable Track Changes when I am inserting/updating/editing citations in Word using Zotero and enable it once I am done with Zotero?

This issues has been discussed in couple other threads, the latest entry being https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/24219/word-plugin-in-track-change-mode-field-code-changed/

The Word plugin troubleshooting page says this "Make sure the Track Changes feature in Word/LibreOffice/OpenOffice is disabled, as it is known to cause problems with Zotero integration. (With the most recent version of the plugins this should not be the case any more - to be safe, do still perform this step, though.) If you had Track Changes enabled previously, try accepting all changes to see if that resolves the issue."
  • The troubleshooting is pretty much what we know about this.
It should work - it's designed to work and it's officially marked compatible since November 2011 - and it does for almost all people.
Still, if you _do_ run into trouble with a document, it's still a place to look to be safe.

Obviously, if the actual text of a citation changes, that would
    be marked as a change.
