Help with follower/following functionality

Hi all,
could you please tell me what is the consequence when someone follows me? I haven't checked the Publish entire library funciotnality. So, can a follower be able to know, may be by receiving notifications, all my new added items? If not, then what is the benefit of following someone?

Following doesn't really do anything at the moment. It was intended towards the more social-network aspects of Zotero, but at least up to now those never went anywhere.
If you publish your library online, anyone can see your new item feed (via the atom feed), whether they follow you or not, if you don't publish your library, then no one can.
