bug in displaying reference list

hi,
I am running zotero 4.0.12 on firefox 24.0 on a mac book pro with retina display (mac os x 10.8.5) and I have some graphics problem.
sometimes the list with the references is simply white. when I then mouse over the list, the items appear. when I scroll again the list becomes white again. when I mouse over the white area, the items reappear. the problem is hard to describe, but quite annoying

  • 13" or 15"? (This is likely a graphics card problem, and I'm wondering if it's related to the discrete GPU. If 15", you could try toggling the "Automatic graphics switching" option in Energy Saver to see if that makes a difference one way or another.)

You also might try disabling your other Firefox extensions to see if it makes a difference, but this is likely a lower-level problem. We've seen graphics issues on Macs in the past but haven't been able to reproduce them. (I can't reproduce this on the latest 13" rMBP.)
  • it is a 13".
i also tried different resolutions apart the retina optimized one, but that does not help. switching off other extensions did not help.
    any other ideas?
is it possible to install zotero as safari-plugin?
  • There's a lightweight extension for Safari that you can use in combination with Zotero Standalone. You can see if this happens in Standalone. They're both available from the download page.

You should also upgrade to Firefox 25, on the off-chance that that helps. I'm also curious if you see this behavior in the Firefox bookmarks window (which uses a similar list view as Zotero).
  • I updated to ff 25 and the problem disappeared. thanks for the quick responses.
