Spell check and replace

I use Zotero Stand Alone to organize my documents and take notes while I read.

In the notes, when I misspell a word it is underlined red. I would like to be able to right click on that misspelled word and get suggestions for replacement.

Is this possible or are there workarounds that would allow me to do this?

Thanks,
  • not currently, no.
In Zotero for Firefox, the regular spell checker functions work in the HTML view of the note, but that's not available in Standalone.
  • Okay, I have been looking for a while for exactly this information about how to get the drop down menu for correcting words with Spellcheck. I also realize now that I saw a reference to this on another page, but it was not explicit enough for me to realize what was being said. For new users, it would be very helpful to have such a non-intuitive feature as having to switch to HTML view being stated clearly in documentation.

    Thanks!
  • +1 for this feature request
This would also possibly take away soome of the frustration other users are experiencing (https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/54739/choose-language-for-spell-check-in-zotero-notes/ https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/6393/spell-check-notes/ https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/45395/disable-spellcheck-in-standalone-4/)
  • Is there any plan to implement this feature in Zotero 5? I'm using the beta but it still only underlines misspellings without giving suggestions on right-click. Can this be done in the future?
  • From a longtime user: Spellcheck was and would be immensely useful and avoid lots of frustration. Please prioritize.
  • +1 for this feature request. Spellcheck without replacement is just a distraction while I'm notetaking.
  • +1 for this request! Spellcheck suggestions would be very very helpful.
  • +1 for this request. Also would like spell check to work on all fields where textual input is expected, e.g. Abstract, Short Title, Language, etc.
  • +1 For this request. I agree that underlines without suggestions are nothing but frustrating.
  • +1 yes, seems basic. Just about all contemporary apps have this function. Zotero is great, but the lack of the basic function makes it seem a bit, well... just odd.
  • +1 yes... really useful if we had this functionality in standalone
  • Has this function been updated/added yet? I can't seem to find it currently.
If not please add it! thank you
