sporadic messages from the forum

weird situation - whenever I login to zotero forums, I begin getting email updates from discussions I never entered or viewed, and needless to say never subscribed to. This will go on for a day or two and stop.

    you receive one new message of from any discussion or category you're subscribed to since you last visit the forum. I can't tell you why you'd be subscribed to a category, but it's highly unlikely that you'd receive a message from a thread that you didn't either contribute to or subscribe to. Next time you receive such a message, follow the link and see if you can unsubscribe forum/category/discussion at the left under notification.

    Cross my heart and swear to die... Yesterday I got a mail titled "Zotero Forums Notification – "Added by" column in the central items table" though I never entered that discussion. I just followed the link in the mail and I have a link there to subscribe to the discussion (i.e. I'm not subscribed to it). There's also a link to unsubscribe from the forum. Maybe that's it? but can you be subscribed to an entire forum?

    Yes, you can subscribe to an entire forum, probably happened by accident. I don't think it makes much sense as an option, but it's there and that's what happened. So unsubscribe and you'll stop getting extraneous messages.
