import *.xslx table into Zotero

Hello.
I have a file (*.xslx) with a list of books (columns: Author(s), Title, Serie, Format, Genre, Size, Language, File Name, Path).

Help me, please, to import my list into Zotero.
I'm ready to pay for this option / fonction (script / convertor to Zotero compatible format).

Best regards.

Alex
  • but if you don't get anywhere - though this really shouldn't be hard to do and we're happy to help with questions - aurimas (or I) can code you something for a small fee. The fact that these are books only really makes this eminently doable. Mixed lists are much harder.
  • If you do want us to make a script for this (or just reformat the excel file so it's importable into Zotero), we'd also need some more info (or for you to just send us the file):

    How are your authors separated?
    What is Format?
    Genre has no corresponding field in Zotero, but it could be stored inside a note.
    Is Size the number of pages or is that the dimensions of the book (the latter has no corresponding field)?
    What do you want to do with Files? Do you want to have links to them from Zotero? Do you want to keep them in the place they are now (this would be a bit harder and maybe impossible)?
    Is Path the path to the folder for each file? So Path + File Name = actual path?
