Reporting problems that's been there for a year

1. When citing, subscript is ignored in bibliography.

2. Journal abbr can never be detected by Zotero. When I added an article, it seems Zotero has no idea what the abbr for the journal is either. When citing according to a journal style that journal abbr must be used in bibliography, Zotero can't do that either. It is written in full name for the journal.

3. The standalone version can't sync when using behind a university's proxy server though it is properly configured.

You're going to have to provide some more detail for all of these points. http://www.zotero.org/support/reporting_bugs#provide_steps_to_reproduce

edit: Particularly because (1) and (2) are certainly working http://i.imgur.com/quEZCxb.png
  • Maybe the problem is a little different than what I've described.

    e.g go to : http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0360319912018629

I saved it to zotero. This is what I get in Zotero:

Note that subscript is not detected, and journal abbr is only the full name of the journal.

The subscripts are not imported because they are not _exported_ by ScienceDirect via their "Export citation" tool. Of course we could be doing a better job with superscript and subscripts and I think that these improvements will come in the future, but it's not currently at the top of the To Do list.

Regarding Journal Abbreviation, the abbreviated title is not supplied in the exported data, so Zotero could either leave it blank or fill it in with full title. Zotero chooses to do the latter, though I'm not sure what the historical reason for this is. In either case, Zotero does perform automatic abbreviations when citing and essentially ignores the Journal Abbreviation field (under most circumstances). So this is no longer a big deal (unless you have a use case for this, in which case, do let us know).
