lost Zotero in Firefox

I recently upgraded Mozilla to 15.0 and am not sure if that was the precipitant, but I no longer have Zotero in Mozilla. Oddly, I have Zotero as a standalone. I work on a MacBook Air (OS X 10.8.4) and my Zotero is 4.0.11. I use it as a standalone on my PC at work, but would really like to have it back in Mozilla for easy downloading on my mac. Can someone suggest a possible solution that does not involve losing what I already have?
  • Update Firefox to the most recent version, i.e. 24. Zotero isn't compatible with outdated Firefox versions.
  • Ah, embarrassing. I "reset" my Firefox, I did not update it. I now have Firefox 24. Can I install Zotero in Firefox and replace what looks like a standalone version? I just don't want to lose what I have.
  • if you install Zotero in FF it will share its data with Standalone. That's a nice set-up to have if you ever do want to use standalone. As long as you keep it closed, Zotero for Firefox will behave normally. If you do want to un-install Standalone that would work, too, but I'd make sure to have a back-up http://www.zotero.org/support/zotero_data#backing_up_your_zotero_library (which you should have anyway)
  • Thanks so very much! Success.
  • I have update to firefox 24 and resetted firefox. Zotero still is lost in firefox after reinstalling it. Any help?
