Zotero won't start/Firefox won't launch

I am running Zotero Standalone 4.0.11 (and Zotero 4.0.12 on Firefox) on Mac OS 10.8.5. I tried rebuilding my index on Zotero, which caused the program to crash. Now, whenever I try to launch Zotero Standalone, the program seems to simply hang; it fails to launch, and is unresponsive. Firefox also fails to launch. Is there something I can do to fix this this? Any advice would be appreciated.
