EBSCO and Windows 7, Chrome/standalone

More problems with EBSCOhost. I see the icon for zotero download in the URL bar, but clicking on it does nothing, no response, no citation without pdf even. Right click on it gives the normal menu, Error report #1785546370 (and a couple others before that, sorry).

url as I see it:

  • p.s. i updated my translators before posting this, then restarted both chrome and zotero ...
  • what translator do you see when hovering over the URL bar icon (step 6 here: http://www.zotero.org/support/troubleshooting_translator_issues )
  • FYI, I don't get any error message, just no response, so I wasn't sure if this was the same issue or not, since the "troubleshooting translator issues" says to expect an error message.
  • er, ok, that's weird, I just clicked on the icon now and it's working.
  • when you clicked - you were still seeing the http://uh7qf6fd4h.search.serialssolutions.com URL? Because I'm rather surprised that'd work and with the EBSCO translator in Chrome.
  • It worked with: http://web.ebscohost.com/ehost/detail?sid=101adccc-29b0-4365-bfd6-558e52479efe%40sessionmgr104&vid=1&hid=126&bdata=JkF1dGhUeXBlPWlwLHVpZCZzaXRlPWVob3N0LWxpdmU%3d#db=a2h&AN=20620761

which I just pulled up from the browser history by auto-completing in the address bar. hm, guess i didn't realize I could have tried the permalink before.

you're right, it's still not working with the serialssolutions.com URL, which is from my university library citation search tool.

So was the problem that I can't use the serialssolutions urls in general? I have to admit, that was not an option I saw when I searched the forums for problems before posting. I just searched for EBSCO problems ...
  • Zotero just doesn't recognize you're on an EBSCO site when there's no mention of EBSCO in the URL. That also be true for most other sites that get proxied via serialssolutions that way, it's not specific to EBSCO.
