prob in referencing style

Hi, when I'm inserting two references side by side, its coming as [1],[2] , instead of [1,2] , or as [1],[2],[3] , instead of [1-3]. Can't change it editing the citation . please help. Thanks in advance.
  • this works differently in Zotero than in Endnote. Enter multiple items in the same citation to get [1-3], don't enter them side by side.

If that's not the problem, which style?
  • I tried that , but still it's doing the same. It's in IEEE style.
  • IEEE style is supposed to give you [1],[2] and [1]-[3]. Are you sure you're getting [1],[2],[3]? Latest version of Zotero?
  • Yes. Latest version.

Which style do I choose to get [1,2] ?
  • pretty much anything else that uses square brackets. All versions of Vancouver brackets, e.g.
  • Thanks. But Vancouver is giving round brackets, eg. (1), I want [1,2], [1-3]. Which style do I choose, please suggest. Thanks a lot again.
  • I said Vancouver brackets. E.g. these four:

  • Thanks . But my word document, in its 'set doc pref' is showing the Vancouver style only. No other style.
I went to the repository to download Vancouver Bracket style , it got downloaded as .csl file. However upon double clicking it , it's not running. I don't see this style in 'set docs pref'. What to do ? Sorry for bothering.

  • Thanks a lot. The problem is solved !
  • Hi, a new problem. While citing, suddenly one of the citation became like this in the text !
    'ADDIN ZOTERO_ITEM CSL_CITATION {"citationID":"LScZ3yMv","properties":{"formattedCitation":"[42,43]","plainCitation":"[42,43]"},"citationItems":[{"id":"IKrIYzmT/rpwcKiy1","uris":["http://zotero.org/users/1308215/items/MIBVXAQV"],"uri":["http://zotero.org/users/1308215/items/MIBVXAQV"],"itemData":{"id":"IKrIYzmT/rpwcKiy1","type":"webpage","title":'
  • all of them or one of them?
  • Only two of them.
  • odd, but I'd just delete them and re-insert them.
  • I can't undo and it has deleted my text! I remember reading something like pressing F9 or F11 key (don't remember exactly) would help to restore. is there any quickfix ?
  • has deleted what text?
You can try pressing alt+F9, but that's unlikely to help in this case.
  • One more problem. One of the paper was not present in the net. So I had manually put that reference in the document. However, that's messing up all the numbers. Is tehre any solution ?
  • you'll have to enter the paper/document manually into Zotero and cite it using Zotero. No alternative.
  • How to manually enter in zotero ?
