how to change the cite-key?

Could not find out how to change the cite-keys generated by Zotero.
The default appears to be that the cite key consists of the last name of the first author, the first word of the title and the year. E.g.:

@article{talvi_exchange_1997,
title = {Exchange Rate-based Stabilization with Endogenous Fiscal Response},
volume = {54},
journal = {Journal of Development Economics},
author = {Ernesto Talvi},
year = {1997},
keywords = {exchange rates,financial crises,first generation financial crisis model,fiscal policy,stabilization},
pages = {59-75}
},

Does anybody know if this default can be changed and how?

    There's a citeKeyFormat variable in the BibTeX translator, which you could edit with Scaffold. (You'd want to make sure you hit Reset Translators and Styles in the Advanced pane of the Zotero prefs first to make sure you have the latest version, since the BibTeX translator (and that translator alone) isn't served automatically to 1.0 clients.)

    That's the only place to configure the key at the moment, but other ways are planned. (You can find a lot of discussion on the subject elsewhere in the forums and on the dev list.)
