  • I have clarified this in the requirements:
    https://github.com/citation-style-language/styles/wiki/Requesting-Styles
we ask for the two specific citations we provide correctly formatted in your style, not just any sample citations of a journal article and a book chapter. Could you add that information?
  • Thanks for the help. I hope that I have understood you correctly and now provide citations from an article and a book chapter. None of these citations are fictive examples or samples, but real citations in ASPET format:

Houghten RA(1985) General method for the rapid solid-phase synthesis of large numbers of peptides: specificity of antigen-antibody interaction at the level of individual amino acids. Proc Natl Acad Sci USA 82:5131–5135.

    Kind regards

  • Sorry I wasn't clear (and I'd be thankful for any input on how to phrase that more clearly on the Requesting Styles page, I've just changed those instructions and they're clearly not phrased optimally yet).
We need the exact two citation we provide in APA style - i.e. the Campbell and Peterson 2007 article and the Mares 2001 chapter - formatted in the style you want (in this case ASPET). We use those to search through our existing styles (with this tool: http://editor.citationstyles.org/searchByExample/ ) for a close match and then modify that as needed, which is a huge time-save.
  • Perfect. Now I understand.Thanks.

ASPET journals: References are cited in the text by giving the first author's name (or the first and second if they are the only authors) and the year of publication (e.g., Ruth and Gehrig, 1929; McCarthy, 1952; or Kennedy et al., 1960). In the reference list, the references should be arranged alphabetically by author and not numbered. The names of all authors should be given in the reference list. If reference is made to more than one publication by the same author(s) in the same year, suffixes (a, b, c, etc.) should be added to the year in the text citation and in the references list.

  • Hi Adam. I presume that you are almost fully occupied. Nevertheless, I would ask if you could give any prospects as to how soon you may be able to construct the ASPET style.

    Thank you in advance.

    Best wishes

    Henrik
  • a couple of weeks probably.
If you're in a hurry using http://editor.citationstyles.org/about/ is your best bet, your already halfway there.
  • The style is now up. It will appear on the style repository within 30mins.. (See here if you need instructions for installing styles in standalone.)

Any problems please let us know.
  • Thank you. Great.

  • I have been using the style for Pharmacological Reviews (thank you for making it) but have some some probelms:

    1) citation in text of "et al.," is in italics but should be in normal

    2) citation in text also sometimes includes first name of an author or the initials of the entire first name of the author

    Thanks

    Kind regards

    Henrik
  • 1. The style is now fixed. The updated version will appear on the repository within 30mins (check the timestamp). Update your copy of the style by re-installing it from the repository. (See here if you need instructions for installing styles in standalone.)

Styles should also update automatically within 24hs for Zotero 4.0+
In an existing document, you may have to switch to a different style and back for the changes to take effect once the style is updated.
Any further problems please let us know.
