Corrupted database cannot be fixed by Data base repair tool

I am running Zotero Standalone, I started getting a corrupted database message a couple of days ago. I replaced the sqlite file with an older backup (from 20 days ago) - to make sure I eliminated the error. I created and imported an rdf for the citations created in that time period.
I still got the corrupted error message.

I ran the Database repair utility and the new database is still corrupted. Zotero keeps restarting.

Any suggestions of what I could try next? could it be a recent reference is causing the error? is my only option to export all the references as RDF and recreate my database (but I would lose all my folders?).

I appreciate any help!

Thanks
  • Unless there's a problem with your hard drive, it's not really possible for the new database to be corrupted if you followed the steps correctly.

When you download the repaired file, if there's a zotero.sqlite.is.corrupt file in the Zotero data directory, delete it.

When you upload the supposedly corrupted database to the repair tool, does the repair tool say that the file was corrupted?

    What's happening, exactly?

Hi, I had not deleted the corrupted zoter.sqlite. Once I did it started working with no errors.

    Thank you!
