Importing issue

I just tried to import by clicking on the gear and selecting import (and browsing to a PDF) and I got an error "file type not supported". The file is a PDF (it's open in Preview now) and I can drag and drop it into my library just fine. Anyone have any idea why the import function doesn't like the file?

    As the article linked to from the "file type not supported" error message explains, the "import" function is for bibliographic formats (e.g. as exported from another reference manager), not for files you want to add to Zotero. If you want to add PDF files to Zotero and not use drag&drop you can use "Store copy of File" under the green plus sign.
