  • Zotero doesn't actually look in tdhe metatags of pdfs. It just looks for a doi on the first couple of pages of the pdf.
  • Thanks for your answer.
In my exeample, the DOI is mentionned in the first page of the PDF like that -> DOI:10.12763/ONA1045
But Zotero cannot find the metadatas. Maybe the DOI has to be mentionned in another way ? My DOI has been assigned by Datacite, is Zotero set for these DOI ?
  • currently Zotero only checks DOIs from CrossRef - I don't believe datacite supplies to CrossRef. We're looking into adding more repositories, but that likely won't be very soon (you can try if a specific DOI will be recognized by Zotero by pasting it to the "Add by Identifier" (magic wand) button.)
  • OK. I tried to search a PDF pasting a DOI to the "Add by Identifier" button, but it doesn't works.
I'll wait for Zotero adding more repositories.
    Thanks for these informations
  • I have the same problem with all non crossref DOIs. For Example I can not add this DOI 10.1594/PANGAEA.712144 to my Zotero library.

Can you tell me how long the Zotero Team need to clear this problem?

    Thanks a lot
    Annika
  • sorry, not sure. The other DOI entities are much less forthcoming with metadata.
  • actually, I take that back. Datacite has great data. We should be able to add that soon. Others, like e.g. Airti, will probably have to wait.
