Renaming attached PDF causes sync of full PDF

I just noticed while renaming some of my attached PDF's that they triggered a sync of the whole PDF. Is this as designed ? Note that i am syncing to my own WebDAV server, not Zotero.

    Renaming how? And how are you determining that the whole PDF is syncing?

    I renamed them using "rename file from parent metadata". Just learned about this feature and renamed about 10-15 PDF's. I saw that on the next sync it was uploading alot of files.

    I then tried just renaming one PDF and noting the size of it and then resyncing Zotero. Keeping the mouse over the sync progress bar to see whats going on, it was syncing data corresponding to the file size of the renamed PDF.

    Then upon opening another computer with the same Zotero account on it, it had to download all of the renamed PDF's from the server.

    I am on Zotero 4.0.8 standalone/Mac. The account in question is not the same as i am writing from here
