PubMed import doesn't work: the problem is back [Solved] Pubmed originated intermitent problem...

Tested with Firefox 21/22 and zotero 4.0.8

Something has changed (again) in the Pubmed page.

Importing a PubMed citation no longer works in any of the usual settings: list, single article record, free full text view, pubmed readers. Here is an example:

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/?term=Fortuitously+discovered+liver+lesions
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3671069/

Zotero import filter works fine with other pages.
No other issue.

Review: should be marked as solved, as it mainly depends on the performance of Pubmed servers. It is not a zotero bug.

  • I have the same problem FireFox 22.0 Zotero 4.08 on Mac OS
Importing citation works correctly from Google Scholar page but not from PubMed page
  • See

  • Same problem here. Import from Pubmed and Firefox 22 does not work any more. Please fix it. We just started to make our comprehensive reference library and the import stopped overnight. Exactly from second to third July.
  • see my link above. This should work again and the problem isn't Zotero's but Pubmed's.

Solved: Something has changed today (again) in the Pubmed page.

    2014 First Pubmed outage

Detected by our librarian at 10:00

Importing a PubMed citation no longer works in any of the usual query settings: list, single article record, free full text view, pubmed readers.

Zotero stalls silently while displaying the bottom import red message box.

No debugging done yet to figure out what's going on.

In fact all queries and results to pubmed.com of pubmed.gov are redirected always to http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/...

In previous episodes it was related to site/server redirections inside pubmed infrastructure itself. They were solved 'spontaneously' within 1-2 days.

    My advice: be patient.

ps. I have already reported the issue to www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed

    PS: Solved at 10:48 am.
    Lesson learnt again: Be patient.
