why do downlaods sometimes go to My Library and sometimes My group library?

I can't make sense of how Zotero decides to download items from the Internet - sometimes they go into My Library and sometimes into My Group Library. How do I move them into the Library that does not have them yet?

    Items download to the library you have selected when you download them. You can just drag&drop them from one library to the other in the Zotero client (i.e. Zotero for Firefox or Zotero Standalone). You cannot move items between libraries in the online version of Zotero.

    where do I make this selection? I've tried to download alternating which Library I have open and it does not seem to matter. marg

    in your Zotero client - it sounds like you're looking at the library online. That has no effect. In Firefox, click on the Zotero logo at the bottom right of the browser to open the client.

    I don't see a zptero logo. Can see downloads, bookmarks, history add-ons, sync, settings. any idea what i'm doing wrong?

    though that only applies if you're using Zotero for Firefox. If you're using Zotero Standalone, just open that.

    Zotero for firefox: I followed the link and tried to follow the instructions. Did not find anything that said "client". Do have Zotero 4.0.8 and Zotero word for windows integration. Load Zotero in browser pane was checked as On.

    Zotero Standalone: Could not find anything in zotero standalone as per instructions. I open it up and then where do I go? I've tried every option I could find but nothing seems to look like an option for downloading from the Internet or getting the Zotero icon to show on Firefox browser.

    What you see at ~35 secs. That's the Zotero "client" (in the Firefox version).
    You have your collections (and groups) on the left, a list of items in the middle, and info on individual items on the right.
    when you now click the URL bar icon, Zotero downloads into the currently selected collection in the currently selected group on the left.

    If you open Zotero Standalone, the pane in Firefox will close. Zotero now saves into the group/collection selected in Zotero Standalone.
