Error Report ID:2098477528 Cannot capture Amazon bibliographic data using Chrome connector.

I have been getting an error message the past few days when I try to use the Zotero icon (in the url bar) to capture bibliographic information from Amazon to stand alone Zotero. I have encountered the error when using Chrome and Safari: ("An error occurred while saving this item. Check Known Translator Issues for more information.").

I'm using stand alone zotero 4.0.8; chrome connector 4.0.8.2.

I do not encounter problems trying to download other information using Connector from such places as the Library of Congress, New York Times, or New York Review of Books
  • Can you provide the URL of a page that gives an error?
  • Simon -- here's one of the urls:
    http://www.amazon.com/The-Wealth-Nations-Adam-Smith/dp/161382081X/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1372642653&sr=8-2&keywords=wealth+of+nations
  • The error is
[JavaScript Error: "Cannot read property 'nodeValue' of undefined" {file: "eval at (chrome-extension://ekhagklcjbdpajgpjgmbionohlpdbjgc/inject/translate_inject.js:50:9), " line: 155}]
but I can't reproduce that here. Would you mind going to File->Save Page As..., selecting "Webpage, HTML Only" from the drop down, saving the file somewhere, and then emailing it to support@zotero.org?
  • I've updated the translator to fix this issue. Zotero should automatically pull the updated translator within 24 hours. Alternatively, you can click the "Update now" button in the General pane of the Zotero Standalone preferences, and then restart your browser.
  • Thank you for the magic, Simon. You solved the problem. I appreciate your efforts.
