Where to place e-book edition info for APA
I seem to be running into an issue with Zotero fields and the APA 6th edition style. In particular, it related to ebooks delivered using Vital Source of CourseSmart. According to APA style the edition information should be followed by a left bracket and the e-book platform version followed by a right bracket and a period. The would preceed the publisher information.
So for example, here is the correct APA entry for a textbook:
Street, M. D., & Street, V. L. (2007). Taking sides: Clashing views in management (3rd ed.) [Vital Source version]. Dubuque: McGraw-Hill Contemporary Learning Series.
I have been doing one of two things -
1. Rigging things by placing the [Vital Source version]. entry into the PLACE field before the appropriate info for that field.
2. I place it in extra and then make a note when completing my paper to edit the Zotero bibliography using the WORD add-on command "Edit bibliography. Then I just zip into the necessary entries and edit.
Are these my only options? Would I need to make some kind of adjustment to the current APA 6th edition style to have it assign it? If it is the later I am pretty sure I will fail quite miserably :-) Sorry - I know there is now a visual editor, but for some reason every attempt has just freaked me out. I'm still trying to figure out if, once I create an adjusted style I need to copy it to every machine on which I run Zotero and install it or will it sync to all of them once installed on my main machine.
Thanks in advance for the APA answer as well as any tips or help on the formatting portion.

You could likely hack something into APA style (e.g. using the extra field for "Vital Source version"), but that'd be relatively involved.
FWIW, if you do adjust a style it will not sync automatically, you need to install it individually on any computer you want to use it on. (That's also the case for any style that you install from zotero.org/styles).
