Tagging multiple items

I'm a zotero newbie and I'm starting to like it. :)
It'll be nice if I could select multiple items and tag them simultaneously.
What do you think?

select the items and drag them to a tag in the tag selector the the left.
For colored tags you can also select the items and press the respective number key from 1-6

Hello,

I would like some clarification for taggin multiple items. After selecting the items, I drag them to the tag selector, but cannot seem to drag them into the box but rather the search bar within the tag selector, is this correct? Following that, How do you add a new tag? I seem to be able to only rename one that has automatically been assigned.

As far as I know, you need to first add a tag manually by selecting an item in the center pane, then clicking on the Tags tab in the right pane and then add.

_Then_ it will show up in the tag selection box and you can then drag and drop multiple items.

This is an old thread, but I thought this is complementary information:
how can I do the inverse, i.e. remove a specific tag from several items? (i.e. not _all_ items that have the tag).
Happy to create a new thread if you think that's better :)

Right click on the tag and assign it a color. Then select the items and type the number on the keyboard corresponding to the colored tag.
