Upgrade StorageUpgrade to Zotero 1.0.4 removed my Zotero tag selector

When I installed the Zotero upgrade 1.0.4, it removed the tag selector. The tag selector worked fine (eventually) in the earlier version although I have had similar problems on initial installation of Zotero, several months ago.
As I did then, I have removed the file localstore.rdf (this, I think reset Firefox tool bars, Zotero columns and a host of other small things and also removed all the proxy settings I had in "Switch Proxy' a tool I use in Firefox portable to enable easy shifts between computers) and made sure nglayout.debug.disable_xul_cache does not exist.
Has anyone any other ideas for getting the tag selector back?
