Updated Software glitch with Mac MSWord

I just updated all of my software (the stand alone application and the word plug in) and have noticed a couple of glitches. 1) the interface for inserting citations into word is completely different, has lost a great feature (autosort according to year), is very slow, and always brings me back to Zotero rather than staying in my word file. 2) the citation fields appear to have disappeared and I am no longer able to easily edit citation fields in documents that I did not initially create.

I really love zotero so I would love some assistance here on the issues - the most pressing in that the citation field keeps disappearing!

The Quick Format Citation dialog was introduced in Zotero 3.0. You can switch to the "classic" view, though: http://www.zotero.org/support/word_processor_plugin_usage

if you prefer the old interface, you can choose it as the default under "Cite" in the Zotero preferences.
You can also familiarize yourself with the new layout here:

it's faster for most users.

You can edit citations directly in the Word document, but this should really be a last resort, just as using the "Show Editor" function.

I wish that I was able to inbed an image the classic view doesn't come up as an option and the layout in the link looks like the old layout not the new one that I have.

It's likely that you're just looking in the wrong place. The option is in Firefox/Standalone Preferences, in the "Cite" panel, as adamsmith says.
