Problem Importing from another Zotero

I was using Zotero on my laptop and want to copy the library to another computer. I did the export to an rdf file. I opened the Zotero into which I want to import the library. I get the following message "No translator could be found for the given file" when I select the rdf file. Any suggestions?

    Also, if I use Export from the gears I get the message "An error occurred when trying to export the selected file."

    If I right click on a folder under collections and select export, it does with no error. But then I can't import it into my other Zoter0 because of the "no trqanslator" error described above.

    Have you actually inspected the file?

    You may have to manually update the translators (if your export is broken).

    I'm not sure what was happening when I tried before but I successfully imported a Zotero RDF file last night. I swear I did everything the same. I think the fundamental principle of "it will begin working the moment you post a question on the Internet" came into play.
