Manage Authors

I would like to have an option that could manage Authors. I explain. I have a huge database (with more than 2000 papers), and many authors are present in more than one paper, but in different ways.

For instance,
Arsuaga, Juan Luis
Arsuaga Ferreras, Juan Luis
Arsuaga, JL
Arsuaga, J. L.
ARSUAGA, JUAN LUIS

etc

An author option is needed to manage and simplify these items. This can also be applied to other tags (as journals).

Batch editing is planned for Zotero 4.2. In the meantime, you need to edit them manually. Unfortunately, there's no way to change the case in one-click on the creator field.

(also, if you add some of these items with a zotero translator, creators should have been added in sentence case. You can report here the faulty imports.)

I hope that even with batch editing something can be done to ease the task of converting the case of author names. All-Upper case authors from the original item when copy-pasted into Zotero would greatly benefit from a right click conversion. This is especially true for names containing decorated characters that are not easily entered with a keyboard of a different language.

Also, does the ris translator auto-convert author names?

no disagreement on this one, just needs to be implemented.

We decided to _not_ perform auto case conversion in generic translators such as RIS, BibTeX etc.
