Zotero Integration Error

Hi,
I am using Zotero plug-in for Safari and Microsoft Word 2011. I've been getting the following error message when I try to insert a citation within the document "Zotero Integration Error: Zotero experienced an error updating your document. this.registry[id].disambig.givens[i] is undefined."

I've found that if I close Zotero app on my computer and then reopen it, I can insert one or two more citations before getting the error message again, re-closing, re-opening, etc. This is getting to be a pain--what do you think is the problem?
  • Using a Mac (probably obvious b/c I'm using Safari but wanted to clarify)
  • Two things
    1. This is a bug that will be fixed in the next ZOtero version
    2. Do you happen to use the classic version of the Word plugin? (i.e. the one that looks like this: http://www.zotero.org/support/word_processor_plugin_usage_classic#inserting_and_editing_citations ?)
If so, could you try using the quick format/new version:
    http://www.zotero.org/support/word_processor_plugin_usage#inserting_and_editing_citations
and see if that makes a difference?
  • @milanm,

For an immediate fix for (1), you can install this processor patch plugin. (It swaps in the latest version of the citation processor. You can remove it after the next Zotero release.)
  • (@milanm: The plugin may not install under Standalone; but you can use it with Zotero for Firefox.)
  • I've just started getting this error today as well. I'm using a PC with Windows 7, Office 10. So annoying!!
  • For what it's worth, the bug is triggered by given names disambiguation. If you switch to a style that does not use disambiguate-add-givennames (such as a numeric style) the error will not be triggered. Not an ideal solution, but at least it avoids the immediate annoyance. This will be resolved with the next Zotero release.
  • strange, I'm using a numerical style and it doesn't have disambiguate-add-givennames in the csl. The processor plug-in patch does seem to have fixed it though.
  • Hi I am using Zotero window 2016. I am getting following error getDocument:document.cpp
    Please suggest solution
  • @drprawin484 sorry but what is it "Zotero window 2016"? Please be more accurate. Did you try to find an answer to your problem on https://www.zotero.org/support/getting_help? respectively on https://www.zotero.org/support/word_processor_plugin_troubleshooting
