Attachments not attaching, no error message

I've attached several pdfs to items in my library, but I have two items that won't accept attachments. I'm nowhere near my storage limit (1.9mb out of 300). When I click to attach a pdf to an item it lets me choose the file as normal, but then nothing happens, no error message but no attachment either.

That's in the client - i.e. Zotero Standalone or for Firefox, right? Not online?
If so, please provide a debug ID covering that process:

Hi, the debug ID is D1883207222. It's happening (or rather not happening) in Firefox, not the standalone version.

The filename of the file you're trying to attach is too long. Zotero doesn't currently shorten filenames, which is something we need to fix. In the meantime, rename the file before attaching. If you can't rename the original, copy it to a temporary location and rename it there, and then attach it.

We've fixed this for 4.0.6, which will be out soon. Long filenames will automatically be shortened.
