Sync not work; conflict resolution

Problem ID: 353150333
Firefox: 20.0
Zotero: 4.0.4
Storage: Zotero

Sync shows that it is fetching data, then that it is processing data. I get the conflict screen showing 38 conflicts. When I process the first one the screen disappears, sync icon spins, then the conflict screen reappears with 38 conflicts again. This is the error message: Source item for keyed source doesn't exist in Zotero.Item.getSource() (MTZNGBXC). I assume MTZNGBXC is a directory name but I cannot find it anywhere. Both web and local trash are empty. There may be a remote computer at home with trash in it. Thanks.
  • Thank you. I found nothing when I searched for MTZNGBXC, however, I did find a file using the link. I deleted the file both from the Zotero server and the computer. On the next sync I got a different error, which I report as ID 1741048394. This time it was for DUMFQU9H. Again, nothing when pasted into the quick search bar. I amended the link you sent by changing MTZNGBXC to DUMFQU9H. Again, I deleted the offending file. It did not seem to make a difference.
  • Actually now I am getting the same behavior except that it cannot find ItemKey A9ARN2IW. Thanks.
  • Can you provide a Debug ID for a sync that's failing?
  • The Debug ID is D207077669.
    Thanks.

If you paste 3D64WG4R into the quick search bar in the Zotero client, do you get any results?
  • I am no longer at school, which is the local computer for this problem. I just synced at home without any problem.
I can search the ItemKey tomorrow. However, none of the ItemKeys listed as missing from the school computer have ever been located by a quick search bar inquiry performed at school.
I also noted that the number of items in the library in the home computer is 1704. The number of items on the Zotero server is also 1704. I did not note the exact number of items on the school computer before I shut it down but I remember that it was in high 1600s.
  • If you don't mind, could you upload your database at school to the DB Repair Tool and provide the Upload ID here? You can hold off on replacing your local database with the repaired version unless it tells you it found database corruption, but we might be able to figure out what's going on from the Upload ID.
  • Here is the upload ID: 51680d50b6dfb
I tinkered with replacing the local database with the repaired version. The behavior persists. Thanks.
  • OK, thanks for your patience. I think this is fixed in the latest 4.0 Branch dev XPI. You can install that over your current version to test and then switch back to 4.0.4. The fix will be included in 4.0.5.
  • This seems to have worked perfectly. No problems with sync. I was able to resolve all the conflicts. Thank you for all your hard work.
