note "freezes" after trying to paste image in it

When I try to paste an image into a Z note, it fails to show the image, showing a place marker instead, and then two things happen:
1. I can no longer edit the note.
2. If I click on any other item, all I get in the right hand window is the "frozen note". To get things working again I have to restart Firefox.
I have successfully pasted images into Z notes before. Could this be a bug of the new version?
  • The image is probably too big. Generally speaking, it's not a good idea, at the moment, to embed an image into a note (e.g.)
You can attach it to the item, though.
  • The image is only 1.4 kb, line drawings of an Egyptian word produced with a hieroglyph editor (JSesh). I am an Egyptologist and need to include Egyptian words in my notes, as part of a sentence written in English. Direct copying of an image from this or another application will not work (while dragging from the Firefox browser window to the note does). I tried a workaround: I saved the word as a .png file which I then just dragged into the note. It arranged itself very nicely on the same line with the text. Then I had the "freeze" problem, I exited Z, and when I returned to the note the image was no longer there.
  • I just found a workaround. I opened the .png image with Firefox and dragged the image into the note from there. It seems to work like a charm. Since the file sizes are so small, hopefully if I use moderation and only paste glyphs into my text when really necessary the program will let me get away with it.
  • The bad news is that the image is lost in synchronization, which is another featured I need. I guess I'll have to use attached Word files instead of notes when I need images.
  • Ok, I got it figured out. When you open an image file in Firefox and dragging them in the note, this creates a link to the file the note reads every time it is opened. I placed my image directory in the root directory in both of my computers and keep it updated manually, so the link works on both machines.
