Safari Connector - Information not transferred into standalone

Report ID:1253307191

I tried to download data from two libraries I am frequently using here in Berlin, Germany with the Safari connector.
The book I was looking for is this one – I was able to download the information from Google books–:

Sugiyama, Shinya. 1988. Japan’s Industrialization in the World Economy, 1859-1899: Export Trade and Overseas Competition. Athlone Press.

1. Staatsbibliothek's catalogue:

http://stabikat.staatsbibliothek-berlin.de/DB=1/SET=2/TTL=1/CMD?ACT=SRCHA&IKT=1016&SRT=YOP&TRM=japans+industrialization+sugiyama

When I click on the book with my opened Zotero Standalone "save item" is shown and disappears again, but nothing was saved to my library.

2. Free University Berlin catalogue:

http://aleph-www.ub.fu-berlin.de/F/VX2YU9U8885769424K192VR59U4LAX6ARTAEJM11ELE8PJM49J-24889?func=find-e&request=%09Japan%27s+industrialization+in+the+world+economy+&find_scan_code=FIND_WRD&adjacent=N

This error is displayed:
"Saving Item...
An error occurred while saving this item. Check Known Translator Issues for more information."

I really appreciate Zotero's functions and would be super happy to use it for the catalalogues mentioned above!

Thank you!
  • We're aware that the StaBi catalog is broken (in general, doesn't work in Firefox either) and am hoping to fix that in the not-too-distant feature.
Fixing the FU aleph catalog for connectors (i.e. Safari & Chrome) involves a lot of work and I'm not sure if/when that will hapen. It works in Firefox.

Note that KOBV - which includes search results from both libraries - works with Zotero, including in Safari:

  • Thanks for your reply and the great tip with KOBV – I'll use this source from now on. :)
  • Stabi should now work.
A translator fix is now up. Your version of Zotero will automatically update within 24hs, or you can update manually using the "Update Now" button in the "General" tab of the Zotero preferences.

Any further problems let us know & thanks for reporting
  • Works perfectly!
    Thank you so much :)
  • The FU Berlin catalog will now also work in connectors.
Your version of Zotero will automatically update within 24hs, or you can update manually using the "Update Now" button in the "General" tab of the Zotero preferences. If you're using Standalone, restart Zotero and your browser after updating.

  • Thank you for the update! :)
  • BTW the FU Berlin has also a new catalogue including some hundred millions or articles:
