networked zotero database + expandrive (mac)

hello i am using a mac 10.4.11 and firefox 2.0.0.9 trying to run my zotero database on a networked drive.
i am using expandrive to mount the drive.
it crashes firefox so horribly that i have to go into the application support library and remove zotero directory to get firefox to start again!
any ideas?

    it's worse than i thought :
    even when i do a clean reinstall of zotero firefox will not start!

    which file should i remove?
