Opening Preferences in Zotero Standalone takes minutes

When I open Preferences, Zotero freezes for several minutes (5 or so). Below is the Debug from the Console.
Thank you for your help.

I run Mac OS X 10.6.8., Chrome Version 25.0.1364.172, Firefox 19.0.2.

We'd need a Debug ID for this (or output with extensions.zotero.debug.time set to true).

How big is your full-text word index in the Search pane of the Zotero prefs?

Not sure what you mean by 'how big'.

Full-text Cache is set to: 1.000.000 and not the default 500.000

The Index Statistics read:
Indexed: 966
Partial: 0
Unindexed 577
Words: 1012681
