Initials in the in-text citation

I am using Chicago Style (Author-date) and some of the in-text references in my MS Word 2011 document do not have the author's initials (what I want) and some do. I would like it not to say (A.A. Jamal 2010) but (Jamal 2010) throughout the document. How do I change it to make it consistent?
