Problems with RDF import

I was using Zotero under Ubuntu 7.10 Gutsy Gibbon.
I made a back up copy of my database using the inbuild function of "export as RDF file", checking also the options "save files" and "save notes". Unfortunately I didn't copy the directory in the Mozilla profile (sqlite file and storage folder).

As I upgraded to Herdy Heron I realized that the default browser, Firefox 3.05b is not supporting Zotero. Nevertheless I downloaded the development branch 1.0.3.r2632 as described at http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/2733/firefox-3-compatibility (post of peter pan dated April 25th 2008).
I was able to install Zotero, but it was impossible to import the RDF file.
Basically Firefox froze (I've an ACER TravelMate 803LMi, 512MB DDR) for half an hour, then appeared a warning about a script that had stopped; I was told whether I wanted to stop the script or continue.
If I continued, once again appeared the warning.
I then stopped the script, and at that point Firefox was no more frozen, but I received an error message.
Checking in the Error section of the Menu "Actions" I found a lenghty error report.

I thought that the problem might derive from an incompatibility of Firefox 3 with Zotero, therefore I tried to do the same importing on my Windows partition, as well on Zotero installed on a Windows computer of a friend of mine. In fact on Windows I was using Zotero 1.0 and not the development branch, as I had Firefox 2.0x. (Trying to install Firefox 2 under Herdy Heron led me to great troubles: it was impossible to install any extension, Zotero included!).

I quote most of the error message from the Windows failed import (I'm sorry if it's too long!):

To make all thin gs more complicate, once I was able to import a great part of my database on Windows based Zotero (3800 entries circa out of more than 4000), but unfortunately I had to stop suddenly the laptop. After that moment I was no more able to replicate the import. I'm not sure whether that file was corrupted by the sudden switch off of the computer, as I've tried the import using also backup copies of the RDF file kept on other external disks.

I've also tried to import the RDF file on Scribe: it seems it was importing the items, but seemed also that it would take... days! So I stopped also that.

In conclusion:

1. is there any way to correct the errors in my RDF database?
2.Alternatively, is it possible to convert my RDF into some other readable format?

Thanks for the patience!
