Sharing/Sycing

I have many folders in my library, and I want to share one of them with a big group of colleagues. Am I able to arrange it so that one of my folders is sharable with others but not all of them, and so that if colleagues make changes, they appear in everyone's libraries? Is "Group" the best way to do this? And if I set up a group, does it appear (differently or at all) in my "stand alone" library?

A group is the only way to do this, yes.
The "Group" will appear as a separate library below your regular "My Library" in the Standalone client or the Firefox add-on, whatever you're using (so you can drag a collection to it from your regular library).
It will not appear in any way in the online version of your library on zotero.org (but appear separately with it's own library page there).
