Api error and no preview for styles that otherwise work

Can any one suggest why the styles harvard-university-of-birmingham and harvard-staffordshire-university both fail to produce a preview at http://www.zotero.org/styles and attempts to retrieve items using them via the API result in "An error occurred"? As far as I am aware both styles validate and work on the desktop - Birmingham certainly does, I use it all the time.
  • I can confirm that. The styles are valid and there isn't anything obviously unusual about them. Neither is terribly clean code - a fair number of superfluous empty suffixes, groups with only one item etc. - but nothing that stands out.
Birmingham has hard coded smart-quotes, which we should get rid of, but that's not the case for staffordshire.
  • Should be fixed now, with a new version of citeproc-js in citeproc-node.

Styles page may take a little while to update.
  • Thanks. The change seems to have fixed the preview at http://www.zotero.org/styles, but both styles still return a 500 status with the text "An error occurred" from the API.
  • It was actually just intermittent, failing on some nodes. Should be better now.
