troubles with the data recognition on webpages

Hello, I am new to Zotero and I am having troubles with the data recognition on webpages. I already tried many of the soutions given here. It won´t even recognize NY site or Amazon.

I tried going on Zotero preferences to Make sure you have the "Use Zotero for Downloaded RIS/Refer" option was checked but there is not even such an option.

I have Mac OS X 10.6.8, Firefox 19.0, Zotero version 3.0.14.1

    It's also not clear that you're looking for the right thing. What exactly do you mean by "troubles with the data recognition"?

    The RIS/Refer option is irrelevant for what you're doing.

    looks like you have Zotero Standalone installed. Zotero Standalone also requires that you install a browser-specific plugin. see the download page
