Accidentally Purged My Personal Library While Trying to Upgrade

I accidentally purged my personal library. Can anyone help me restore it?

  • provide some details on how exactly you purged your library.
Also, did you ever sync your library to Zotero? Do you have back-ups of your harddisk?
    Most generally see here: http://www.zotero.org/support/zotero_data#restoring_your_zotero_library_from_a_backup
  • Thanks Adam for responding. I simply hit the red purge button accidentally while trying to upgrade my storage capacity. It erase all my files. I never backed my data up as I was just recently introduced to the software. Is there a way to restore the data. I just connected one of my laptops and synced it, but it doesn't appear to have restored the data. (I was using a university desktop when I purged my data).
  • Do you have any computers that still have your Zotero library on it?
  • Rintze is asking because all files are also stored locally, so if you have any computer which synced with the online library it would also have all the files.
If you don't, unfortunately, there is not much you can do, there are no back-up versions of your library on the Zotero server.
  • If you do have the files locally, you just need to do a Reset File Sync History from the Sync->Reset pane of the Zotero preferences. (Don't use any of the other reset options.)
