Upgrade Storageempty/filled circles like in 3.1 for saved search?

I just tried out 3.1 alpha from the current github channel and really like the small empty /filled circles for notes and attachments in the main item tree. I was wondering whether it would be possible to add columns based on saved searches? That would be a very flexible and useful feature. It could be used to easily get the requested read/unread feature and other things. Here is the idea: right-click on saved search brings up the option "Add column to item list for save search". When the user selects this options, zotero adds a column to the item tree with small circles for all items that are in the saved search. Any thoughts?
