Allow urls in "Add Item by Identifier" feature

The "Add Item by Identifier" button allows one to add items by giving their ISBN, Digital Object Identifier (DOI), or PubMed ID. It would be nice if one could also give a URL from which a translator could then extract the bibliographic information. That would provide an alternative to using a bookmarklet in the browser.

while this may be generally possible in the future, it does require an entire added layer of functionality over the existing add by identifier feature, so it's not going to be something that gets implemented quickly.

I would have thought this would be easier for the web version than for the desktop version. The web version can just fetch the content of the url and inject the same javascript that the bookmarklet injects, I would have thought.
