[Solved]Order word bibliography

Hello,

Is anyone knowing how to re-order the bibliography when already entered ?

I forgot to put a reference at the right moment : it HAS to be higher in the order. It's, let say, at the 26th position and should be in the 8th.

How to modify this without having to manually rewrite the bibliography ? I tried to use the cursor, or keyboard shortcuts, or both in the Zotero "edit bibliography" interface ... But no way ! It's annoying ! I've like 60 references and if I've to do that manually in each mistake it'll take me years !
  • Could you provide some more background?
Why are you not just inserting the reference in the right location in the text?
  • I tried but it didn't work. I selected the previous reference in the bibliography, and tried to click to the arrow to transfer the reference I need to be in the 8th position. And that reference came still at the last position ...
  • again, please provide a bit more background, I don't really understand what you're trying to do.
Zotero orders bibliographies according to rules specified in the style.
    Many styles sort alphabetically.
Most numerical styles sort by order of mention in the text - so it's really unusual to want to change the order of the bibliography and you'd have to tell us why in order to get more useful advice.
  • The background : I'm writing a report of my bibliographic research and need to put several references in the following form : 2-10 for example. So I need to order my bibliography actually before putting the exposants in the text. And the one I want to put in a backward position is in those sorts of arrangements. It's difficult to explain ...
  • you can sort the items in the in-text citation by switching to the classical version of the plugin (click on the arrow at the left of the quick-format bar) - you'll see up and down arrows there. The order in the text will be reflected in the bibliography.

Ok, I will test your solution tomorrow in my work, because my project and zotero are not installed in my personnal computer. I will say if it works or not, because if it works, it has to stay in view for future people which will have the problem.
  • Do I understand that you are making a list of references and that you must present them in groups? You need to describe your progress by narrative to be presented to someone? If I am correct and understand how you want to go about this; I think that I can suggest a better way to do it that will give you what you need. You will not have to create your bibliography first and then change the text to reflect the changes or additions to your bibliography list.

Okay I solved my problem : I misused Zotero, trying to create the bibliography at the end of my report before actually labelling it in the text. I reversed my process and everything was fine.

    Precisely :

    - Deleted the bibliography created for the report
    - Labeled one by one my references in the text
    - The bibliography automatically ordered in the right way, even when I had to put a reference at the begin of my text after having done that all the way to the end of the text.
