"Purge Deleted Storage Files" and Error Report
Dear Friends:
I've spent the day becoming familiar with how to report bugs and generate error reports.
Files (PDF attachments) which I remove from the library and trash in Zotero don't disappear in my webDAV filestore.
Clicking the storage debug option "Purge Deleted Storage Files" in Zotero has no external result (the folder "zotero" in my webDAV shows no change). Zotero generates an error report which seems relevant to this (perhaps an error report for each failure).
I am ready to generate a report, but am unsure if I should do so unsolicited. Moreover, I'm not sure if this post belongs in the "Syncing" or the "Troubleshooting" section.
Please forgive my ignorance. I'm looking forward to collaborating on a solution to this.
Best Regards,
yateendra

It's not terribly important in which section you post - Dan who'll be the one to help you with this sees all threads anyway - so don't worry about it, though FWIW syncing was probably the better choice.
I'll take a look at this when I have a chance.

Dear Adam:
Thanks for your helpful and accommodating response. I am happy to be greeted so warmly.
Dear Dan:
Yes, I agree that it's probably just as you've described. I know you're busy and would like to leave you free pursue higher priorities if I can get around the limitation.
I wonder if the lack of automatic webDAV purging could be managed by periodically scrubbing the "zotero directory in the cloud" and doing the "Reset File Sync History" in the Zotero "Sync" menu? My present use doesn't include syncing to multiple machines. If it did, I'd probably want to perform this step before syncing a second machine. In any case, "too many" files seems better than "too few."
Again, many thanks for your excellent work!
