No results for Adv. Search on "Type" "is" "Book"

I must be doing something wrong since I get no search results for
"Type" "is" "Book" or "Type" "is" "Web page" or
"Type" "contains" "Book"

searches on other categories like "Title" work fine.
(I just started using Zotero)

You want to search for "Item Type" is "Book" not "Type" (the latter being the content of e.g. the field "Report Type").
