Export broken?

Today, TEI-XML export generates a Java error in my local Zotero, both inside of Firefox and Standalone. I went to the web site, and was not able to export anything. All I get is the message "error occurred."

First, on Windows 7, then on Ubuntu 12.10.

I'm using the latest versions of Firefox and Zotero.
  • By "not able to export anything", I mean, every output format I tried generated an error.
  • All I get is the message "error occurred."
That wouldn't be the exact message. Please be precise, to make sure we actually know what you're referring to. Do you mean "An error occurred while trying to export the selected file."?
  • Dear acmuller, Dan,

I tried exporting to BibTeX with notes and got the "An error occurred while trying to export the selected file" error. The Report ID is 705784356.
Looking at the Report error I presume it is related to me having backup copies of styles in my local profile. Is it correct?

    Using Firefox 18.0.1.
  • OK, I just replicated the error, which comes out as

    ID: 312413859
  • Looking at the Report error I presume it is related to me having backup copies of styles in my local profile. Is it correct?
No, but you shouldn't have those there.

After fixing that, can you restart Firefox and provide a Debug ID for an export attempt that fails?
  • [JavaScript Error: "Translator with ID 032ae9b7-ab90-9205-a479-baf81f49184a already loaded from "TEI.js"" {file: "file:///mnt/win_d/zotero/translators/tei-zotero-translator.js" line: 0}]
You appear to have a copy of the TEI translator with the same ID. Remove it.
[JavaScript Error: "missing name after . operator" {file: "/mnt/win_d/zotero/translators/TEI.js" line: 150}]"
A few translators, including TEI, need to be updated to work with Firefox 18, which removed support for a programming feature they were using.

This would be TEI-specific, though, so I'm not sure what you mean by this:
By "not able to export anything", I mean, every output format I tried generated an error.
Are you able to export using export formats other than TEI?
