Can't purchase storage

Hello! I am trying to purchase additional storage but my university account administered by gmail is not allowing "google wallet". Is there another way I can purchase storage? I have another gmail account but that seems to be blocked as well. Thank you
  • If your university's email system is managed by Google you can talk with your network / email team and argue for allowing that function. It is under your university's control. I had the same experience when my university switched from self-managing email to a Google managed system. After initially saying that they would allow me more Google features, they made the decision that they wouldn't make case-by-case exceptions. I have two GMail accounts and can switch between them. I have Google Wallet and YouTube uploads through my personal account and email (only) through my university account. If you use Chrome as your email and Google access, you can easily switch between your two accounts. I keep both Chrome and FF open (and minimized) almost all the time.
  • While Zotero will, in exceptional circumstances, bill you through paypal, I wouldn't recommend going that way:
They don't like to do it because it all has to be done by hand vs. google wallet which is completely automated. But also for your benefit - going through paypal you have to deal with much longer waits and rely on emails rather than the online interface to change storage levels, cancel or renew storage etc.
As DWL says, you should be able to pay with your general gmail account, even if you're signed up with u. e-mail address - I'd recommend as a first step you make sure that google wallet is really not available for you (in that case - in which country are you?)
  • Thank you! Yes, it worked fine using Google Chrome. I had not thought of that. I will keep this in mind for future downloads, etc. Thanks again--much appreciated!
