Excel-formatted citations --> = Zotero

Hi there.
I am working on a book project, and I started placing my sources into an Excel spreadsheet (about 200) and then I discovered Zotero. My citations are in a CSV file generated from my citation list I've created in Excel. (There's a cell for au: last name, first name, publishing date, book title, etc.) I want to be able to import the citations I've created already into Zotero WITHOUT re-doing each entry. Do you have any suggestions how Zotero might allow me to upload my citations list, read the specified cells, and auto-fill that information into its own program? So I don't have to re-do every. single. one. ? Please help! Thank you!

    If the citation records are online (WorldCat, Google Books) or if you have ISBNs and DOIs for your spreadsheet records; you should be able to import all of your items in less than 2hours -- perhaps, much less. There will not be a need to tinker with files and formats to get the import to go through. Also, if you bring each item into Zotero that way you need not worry about typos. (As with any task, you will still need to check that each record is correct and sometimes make small edits.)

    If you needed to transfer 2000 records it might be worth the time to do the recommeded tasks necessary to convert file types and bring in your items. I believe that you will find that capturing your items online will be far less nerve-bending and probably require less time.
