Zotero connector lags

I prefer doing my browsing on Chrome for its responsiveness. Collecting new entries on Chrome has not been a problem either with Chrome connector. A new entry would appear immediately in the Firefox zotero library upon clicking the icon in the Chrome address bar.

Not any more. Now there is a definite lag before the new entry appears in the Firefox side. Sometimes it even takes a new manual sync before it appears.

Is this a known issue? Why all of a sudden am I experiencing it after months of seamless operation between Chrome connector and Zotero?
  • Is this with the official Zotero client (or Standalone), or with MLZ? (There should be no difference in behaviour between the two, but just in case.)

    It sounds like items are being saved directly to the server rather than to Zotero, and you're just pulling them down via sync.

    Do you have the pref that's necessary for this to work with Zotero for Firefox enabled? It's disabled by default. (I also don't know if it works in MLZ, if that's what you're using.)
  • Just checked in MLZ, and with that option enabled and no Standalone running it seems to work fine. The item appears immediately on the Firefox client side.
  • @Dan Stillman,

    Yes, "extensions.zotero.httpServer.enabled" was the culprit. I think during the recent crash and restoration of my laptop, some of the settings went awry.

    Thanks!

    @fbennett,

    Yes, it was with MLZ.
