Installing other citation styles

Hi,

I'm trying to install the "American Journal of Physical Anthropology" citation style and other anthropology-related styles. I keep clicking on the link for it in the Zotero Citation Repository. It then asks me if I want to install it, and I select "install". But then when I go to create a citation using that style, it is not in the pull-down list of citation styles. How do I get this style to show up in the list?

Thanks,
Lexi
  • which Zotero version? Firefox or Standalone?
  • Firefox version
  • is the style listed in the Zotero preferences
    http://www.zotero.org/support/preferences
    under Cite -->styles?

    If not, try the instructions for manually installing a style in the style manager here:
    http://www.zotero.org/support/styles#installing_additional_styles

    If it does show up in that list, which "pull-down list" are you talking about exactly?
  • Yes, it does.

    When I go to "My Library" and select a file, then click on the cite button (second to the far right near the top), it comes up with a list that says "Select Style". And it isn't listed in there.
  • oh ok - the online library at zotero.org is separate from your local library in Zotero - styles you install refer to your local version of Zotero - (which is what you should mainly be working with anyway). If you right click on your item(s) in your local version of Zotero and select "Create bibliography from selected items" the installed styles will appear. Same if you're using the Word or Libre Office plugin.
  • Thanks for all your help Adam!
