Where are all of my saved links?

I use three different computers to save my paper's resources on. One of them being the school computer. Every time I try to log on to my Zotero account, my saved links are no where to be found, except for the files that were saved from the same computer it is being pulled up from. What am I doing wrong?
  • what exactly do you mean by "saved links"? The attached files?

  • sorry, i guess that's the proper term. But for example, i save most of my attached files on my lap top, but i am at school now on their computer. I went to the preference tab and signed into my account but its still showing me only the attachments of the person that was using zotero last. I want my attachments.

I'd actually discourage you to use Zotero in that setting at all. It's not well suited to be used on a shared public computer (with the exception of the online version of your library at zotero.org/tanya246/items )
  • They are not even saved onto my online version. I thought that it would automatically save there but, No :-(
  • then see here - you need to set up syncing:

  • I'm assuming, this is the reason my attachments and the previous user's information all got synced onto my library? Because i had to go in and delete the attachment manually, one-by-one, all 30 of them. This sucks.
  • that's the reason I'm telling you not to use Zotero on a public&shared computer, yes. If available at your school, I recommend talking to a librarian or so for a quick intro to Zotero - you seem to have some basic misunderstandings about how it's set-up, with the unfortunate side-effects that you're now experiencing.
  • Yeah, its a research seminar course. Basics is what was taught because the prof was the one that accidentally sync the previous attachments onto my library. The prof is also unsure of how this works entirely. I will just have to work off my lap top. Thank you for your help Adam!
  • A "lab mode" that would be better suited to this type of situation might happen at some point, but for now, yes, using Zotero on public computers without roaming accounts is discouraged.
